Having choices,and making them
1...We wake up each morning...or not!
2...It is always a new day for us...or not!
1...We don't usually have a choice in this first one...
fate often decides for us!
2...We do have a choice here...
we choose to bring yesterday's thoughts
with us into the new day...
the new consciousness of the awakening event ,
that we call a new day! Or Not!!!
True, there are physical circumstatnces that don't change...
ie: like bills to pay , work to go to...clothes to wash,
places to go, people to see, our emotional relationships,etc...
How we will look at these everyday things
in this new state of consciousness,(our new day) is up to US...
sometimes they are brought to our attention , again,
by others...by those who do not possess the strength
to choose what they will do...think or feel,
or how they will react to their surroundings.
In reality most folks don't want to change at all...
change means they have to look around for any trouble
that might bite their heads off as they look out of their ruts...
as long as they stay buried in their ruts they are safe,
they are comfortable with things just as they are...
even if they are on a downward spiral physically,
emotionaly, financially, etc....change is taboo for them...
it means they have to get up and do something...to fix it...
No remote to change the channel of life...so they don't do it,
they don't get up...scared that Life,
like the arcade game of hitting the gophers on the head
with a hammer when they stick their heads up,
will try to take their heads off...or at least bruise them up some...
They stay in their ruts...
thinking they can overcome their depressing lives with a drug,
or spend more than they have...looking, constantly looking...
but doing nothing...Just looking...
Do you see the pattern...never doing anything new!
Then they will not have to worry themselves with experiences!
Drug companies , keep you depressed...
by making you feel that something is physically wrong with you,
because you are depressed, making you feel guilty,
something that their drugs can cure...not!!!
When in reality if you can overcome the every day problems that
plague you...you will over time...
overcome the depression by yourself.
I have been there...done that...you can too!
Depressed , been there, done that...
Took drugs, been there, done that...
Divorced, been there, done that...
Financially devastated, been there, done that...
Alcohol, been there done that,too!
Once your life's so called problems are handled,
your nervous system can return to normal...
away from the fight or flight syndrome...
the constant adrenaline will subside,
and you can relax... over time....
We look for the pill, the cure-all, why?
Because we think we can think our problems away...
It's the no faith, human feeling that we can cure our own
problems, with our own ways...man made...
in other words we can stay in our boroughs,
drugged up, spaced out, desensitized to life, and life will just go away...NOT!
Drugs keep you on the sidelines, out of the game...
you can't play anymore...your life is not your own anymore...
Plays in Life's game, are made for you.
Some how, through modern technology (Mostly Mass Production)
we have become used to getting things now...when we want them...
Instead of just being content to get things as we need them....
For example: Let's say we see a commercial on tv,
stating a new refrigerator...
sleek, shiny, more space interior...IS ON SALE NOW!
Ok, now we whip out that ol' credit card to pay for it....ok...so_o_o_o...easy...
We can stay at home, do it over the internet now...
have it delivered straight away,
not even have to stick our heads out of our ruts...no worries...yeah, right!!!
Well any money we might have saved on the price of the unit,
just went up in flames, with the interest rate fueling the fire...
Now the depression sets in as we worry about how we are
going to pay off these credit debts...or if ever!
Depression comes from being overwhelmed...by anything!!
We accepted the overwhelming feelings,
we allowed them a place in our thoughts...
gave them credence, a place to build upon, a foundation,
so to speak.
Now if we had been taught about this in our youth,
before we ever got a job in the first place...
it would have taught us that this is backwards
from what we need...
Work and save, work and save...for what we need, ONLY...
Now some of us will see this coming, from watching others...
Satisfaction or lack of it leads to wanting other things...
wanting more than you really need...
when in fact that old refrigerator was working just fine, wasn't it????
And who is gonna see it anyway?
Just family and friends, right? Not the whole world...
If your friends don't like it, are they really your friends?
Or are you going to accept the challenge of 'who can spend the most in their lifetime'?
Back to commercials again...that old guilt trip that if we don't
do as they say we will not be like others, not with it, not with the in crowd!!
Do you really want to be a part of that crowd?
Being mindlessly led around by a guilt trip from a commercial?
Sales pitches now use the old guilt trip on us...
And to add to all this. We want so much, right now,
there is so much to want, isn't there?
But what do we really need?
The quality of most things has taken a big downward spiral
with our value of our currency. So much so, that some of us
don't even know quality when we see it.
Why?
Because we want more now, we have depleted some of our supplies
of materials. Or we have driven the price up of that which we do still have
to the point where only the rich can afford the finer things in life.
How about alcohol....whooee!
First off, too much of anything is not good...and,
contrary to popular belief, you can have too much fun...
just ask a patient who is dying from liver failure...
I have personally watched two people die from it ...
and I am watching another one now...
All three are brothers and sisters...not good...
Drinking is not the problem, it is the symptom of a problem...
Like depression we think...just think...we can make our problems
go away...we need to dull our senses to enjoy being with others?
Drinking and Driving...we allow it, don't we?
We manufacture and sell alcohol...
We manufacture and sell cars...
We even manufacture and sell guns...
Among themselves none of these items kills...until..............
Someone picks them up and uses them...
We can't deal with life so we think we have to make it go away...somehow.
Most times the side effects are worse or
at least as bad as the original ailment.
Then you need more drugs to overcome or
treat the symptoms of the side effects...
See the pattern?
Drug companies don't want you to really get well...
How would they make any money?
Another legalization of something....?
We don't teach any disciplines anymore...
save money, what is that?
Oh, you mean save money on your next purchase?
No, I don't...I mean open a savings account at your bank...a real savings account,
you know ,where you put extra, unspent, money into it...
Think about it..if you spend money, how do you save any?
One day it will catch up with you...retirement...
with no savings, what-so-ever!
ps. I dare anyone to show me anything of man's making that is as permanent as God's creations!
p.p.s. If you have a tv, I challenge you to do without it for a week, totally... Discipline, think about it.
